March is Women’s History Month. March 8 is International Women’s Day. And March 3-9 is Women in Construction Week. So, let’s see. Who would be a good guest for this special edition of NJBIZ Conversations?
Of course: Cyndie Williams, the executive director of the Carpenter Contractor Trust and union member since 1999.
The CCT is a labor-management organization of carpenters and contractors in six states. The group represents 41,000 union carpenters and thousands of contractors. Based in Philadelphia, the CCT also maintains an office in Edison and is active in New Jersey.
In this discussion, Williams talks about her introduction to and career in carpentry, the resources available for young women considering careers in the industry and the state of the industry and labor movement.
