National Pre-Apprenticeship Week earns a permanent place in Chase’s Calendar of Events
August 5, 2026

National Pre-Apprenticeship Week has been officially accepted into the 2027 Chase’s Calendar of Events, securing the first week of May as its permanent, nationwide observance. Founded by the Carpenter Contractor Trust, the initiative now holds a fixed place on one of the most widely recognized references for notable observances in the country.
Chase’s Calendar is regarded as the authoritative standard for awareness efforts, listing observances such as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Hispanic Heritage Month and National Suicide Prevention Week. Each entry moves through a competitive, panel-reviewed submission process, which makes acceptance a meaningful endorsement of an observance’s purpose and impact. The 2027 edition becomes available in print and online in October 2026.
“This recognition transforms what has historically been behind-the-scenes work into a lasting promotional cornerstone,” said Cyndie Williams, executive director of CCT. “It ensures that National Pre-Apprenticeship Week will continue to gain visibility and momentum, reinforcing the importance of building strong pathways into the skilled trades.”
The carpenters’ pre-apprenticeship program is a hands-on training pathway designed to prepare individuals for a career in the skilled trades, with a focus on carpentry and union apprenticeship readiness. Participants learn foundational construction skills such as safety, basic math and tool use, along with introductory framing. The program also builds the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in a registered apprenticeship and, ultimately, a long-term career in the industry.
Inclusion in the calendar signals both credibility and significance, and the listing remains in place indefinitely through continued yearly renewal. That permanence gives the initiative a reliable platform for national exposure year after year.
For the Carpenter Contractor Trust, the designation establishes a long-term marketing asset that can be leveraged to elevate awareness, engagement and participation. It strengthens CCT’s ability to spotlight the value of pre-apprenticeship programs and expand outreach across industries and communities nationwide.
